Oh, hello.
My name is Rose Amer (said like Aim-er, not Ah-mer). I'm a writer/performer/comedian/alive person and a born-and-bred New Yorker who just returned home. After graduating from Northwestern University In 2016, I lived and worked in Chicago until late 2020.
The world is full of fart jokes (toot), I'm still laughing at that vine of a banana singing Whitney Houston (RIP), and I spend a lot of mental energy thinking about dogs (woof). The rest of my time I spend wishing that I'll just wake up some day as Jenny Slate. Thus far, no dice/sorry kiddo/maybe next Chanukah.
I am a graduate of the Second City Conservatory, iO Chicago, and CiC improv programs, an actor/improviser, an occasional writer of things, and a person around town. I write and perform with my beloved and psycho sketch team, Rosemary's Other Baby, who have done everything from a Halloween-themed game show, to a full-length farce, to a podcast. I was also selected to perform in the Just for Laughs character showcase at Out of Bounds in August 2019. I previously performed with the iO Harold teams Moms and Pangea, and with CIC's House Team fair dinkum.
I also have this newsletter. And a collection of poetry!!
I lent my face/limbs to the Super 8mm short Dear Frankie, which premiered with Straight8 at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018!
